MARCH 2024, Vol V – Issue 1

The information below summarizes the current company vacation policy as listed in the Company Handbook:

A. Accrual Table for ALL Eligible Employees

Years of Service Completed (Employee’s Anniversary Date) Vacation Hours Accrued Per Bi-Weekly Pay Period Vacation Days/Hours Accrued Per Benefit Year Maximum Vacation Cap or Accruals 1.5x’s
Date of hire thru 9 mos. 0 No Accrual Not Applicable
NEW! 10th mo. thru – 24 mos. 1.54 hours 5 days/40 hours 7.5 days/60 hours
NEW! 25th mo. thru – 60 mos. 2.46 hours 8 days/64 hours 12 days/96 hours
61mos – 168 mos. 4.00 hours 13 days/104 hours 19.5 days/156 hours
169th mo. forward (year 15) 5.54 hours 18 days/144 hours 27 days/216 hours

Hours are earned each payroll and added to the total in the accrual bucket.  The total in the accrual bucket is subject to the Cap amount of 1.5 times the annual accrual rate.  As an example, if you are in the category of employees accruing at the rate of 8 days per year then the maximum number of hours in your bucket will be 96 hours and when the bucket contains that amount you will not accrue any more time until you use some of it. Using even 1 day will make room in the bucket for another 8 hours and the accrual will resume. Each and every payroll day is the time to look at the accruals on your paystub to make sure the accrual has not stopped. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Larry Kaminsky at 516-612-0449 or his cell number at 516-457-7269.
